I'm not receiving aurora alert notifications
Check that notifications are enabled for AuroraVision in your phone's system settings, and that the app has location permission (needed to check conditions near you). Alerts only fire when your local score crosses your chosen threshold — try lowering it in the app's Alerts settings if you expect more.
The live score or data looks stuck / wrong
All data comes directly from NOAA's space weather feeds and updates every 1-2 minutes. If a reading looks stale, look for the small "Not live" badge next to it — that means we couldn't confirm a fresh reading from NOAA and are showing the last known value rather than guessing. It should clear on its own once NOAA's feed catches up.
My location isn't detected correctly
Make sure location services are turned on for AuroraVision (Settings → Privacy → Location Services on iOS, or App permissions on Android). If you're travelling, you can also manually pick a location from the country and city lists in the Forecast and Map sections.
How do I change the app language?
Use the language selector (EN / IS / ZH) in the top navigation on the website, or in the app's settings menu. AuroraVision currently supports English, Icelandic and Chinese.
How do I delete my account or data?

How does the aurora score actually work?
The Live Score is calculated from real-time solar wind (Bz, Bt, speed, particle density) plus local cloud cover and the NOAA auroral oval. The Tonight forecast instead uses the Kp forecast plus expected overnight cloud cover. See our Visibility Score guide for the full breakdown.
