🌌 What is AuroraVision?
AuroraVision is a free northern lights forecast tool designed for aurora hunters in Iceland and across the northern hemisphere. We combine live solar wind data (Bz, speed, density), the Planetary K-index, cloud cover forecasts, and OVATION aurora power output into a single visibility score — updated every 2 minutes.
We believe aurora forecasting should be simple, honest, and free. No paywalls, no misleading "100% chance tonight" clickbait — just real data, explained clearly.

- NOAA DSCOVR / ACE satellite — real-time solar wind Bz, speed, density
- NOAA SWPC — Planetary K-index (Kp), geomagnetic storm alerts
- NOAA OVATION — auroral oval position and power output
- Open-Meteo — cloud cover forecasts for Iceland
- USNO / Astro-API — sunset, sunrise, and moon phase
📱 The App
The AuroraVision app for iOS and Android sends push notifications when the aurora visibility score crosses your chosen threshold — so you don't have to keep checking.
